Washington, D.C. (September 7, 2005) – Adding to an already impressive list of endorsements, Delegate Jeff Frederick appeared at a press conference today with Reps. Tom Davis (VA-11) and Jo Ann Davis (VA-1), who announced their endorsements of Frederick for his re-election bid to the Virginia General Assembly. The northern half of Frederick’s legislative district is represented by Congressman Tom Davis, while Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis represents the southern portion.
“Jeff Frederick gets the job done. He has already produced tangible results for eastern Prince William, bringing more state funding home to his district than any other first term legislator. Jeff worked to expand parking for commuters and is increasing transportation funding for Prince William County. The 52nd district has an effective leader in Jeff Frederick”, said Mr. Davis, who is the Chairman of the Committee on Government Reform in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis added “One of the things that makes Jeff so effective in representing his constituents is that he understands the everyday challenges facing us all today and into the future. Jeff gets it, and addresses these problems. As a former member of the House of Delegates myself, I know how difficult it is to get things done in Richmond and in just twenty months in office, he’s gotten a lot done. I'm proud to support Jeff, and look forward to working with him in his second term.”
“I’m honored to have the support of these two accomplished public servants who represent the people of my district at the national level, and I’m especially grateful to call them my friends. As we work to serve our bosses, the people of eastern Prince William County, having the relationships in place to foster a strong partnership between the local, state, and federal levels of representative government only helps us all to more effectively get the job done,” said Frederick.
In early August, Frederick was unanimously endorsed by every member of the Dumfries Town Council, including Mayor Mel Bray and Vice-Mayor Clyde Washington, both Democrats. Frederick’s campaign manager Ted Prill said that a similar endorsement press conference will be held in the coming weeks with members of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, including Chairman Sean Connaughton.
“Elected leaders of all stripes – Republicans, Democrats, Independents; local, state, and national – are all coming out in support of Delegate Frederick’s reelection. I think this says a lot of the hard work Jeff has done, and how well he’s been able to work with people regardless of level or party”, said Prill.
