Frederick maintains reputation as a strong and aggressive campaigner

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woodbridge, Virginia (April 11, 2007) – As he gears up his campaign for a third term in the House of Delegates, Jeff Frederick is off to an impressive start in the money race, having raised $72,487 for the first quarter of this year. According to a report filed with the State Board of Elections, the eastern Prince William County legislator has raised a total of $240,142 for the current election cycle, and currently has $184,080 on-hand.

“I am incredibly grateful for the continued financial support from so many, and as always, we’ll use the investment wisely. While we are confident in our ability to win, we aren’t taking anything for granted, and these funds will help us get our message out, fighting for real transportation solutions, responsible growth, better schools, and lower taxes,” Frederick said.

Members of the General Assembly, including Frederick, are prohibited from raising money while the legislature is in session, which it was for two of the three months in the last quarter, so the amount he raised this quarter is essentially one month’s effort.

Megan Svajda, campaign manager for Frederick, added: “Jeff’s last campaign was the most costly race in Virginia history, so it’s great that we’re on track again to raise the necessary funds to run the same kind of organized and aggressive campaign Jeff has run in the past. We’re already going door-to-door everyday, but unfortunately, that’s not all there is to campaigns and all that other stuff costs money.”

Frederick was pleased with his campaign's fundraising, but said that he'll still need help. “We'll continue to need all the support, encouragement, and prayers we can get. With Governor Kaine and his Richmond special interest friends raising millions to defeat guys like me, I’m sure we’ll have another expensive race this year,” he said.
