FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woodbridge, Virginia (August 11, 2005) – Delegate Jeff Frederick’s campaign announced today that the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has endorsed Frederick’s re-election campaign to continue to represent the 52nd district in the Virginia House of Delegates.

In a letter to Frederick, Gordon Dixon, NFIB Director for Virginia, wrote that “small business owners need a legislator like you, who will fight to ensure small business has an opportunity to develop and thrive.” Dixon continued: “Your support for Health Savings Accounts, Small Business Regulatory Flexibility, and elimination of both the Death Tax and Accelerated Sales Tax payments is very much appreciated by small business.”

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses employ nearly half of Virginia’s employees. Small businesses create two-thirds of the new jobs in the United States. In Virginia, 97.7 percent of the businesses are small businesses. NFIB, which represents over 9,000 small and independent business owners in Virginia, is the largest small-business advocacy group in the country, with over 600,000 members nationwide. It has members in every state and in the District of Columbia.

“There is no doubt that small business is the engine of Virginia’s economy and our state’s largest employer. As a small businessman myself, I‘m honored to have the support of the NFIB,” said Frederick, who earlier this year was elected Vice-Chairman of the Virginia Small Business Commission. “For Virginia to prosper our small businesses must prosper. I look forward to continuing my work to address the concerns and challenges small business owners face.”

Delegate Jeff Frederick is CEO of GXS Strategies, a Virginia-based information and internet technology company he founded in 1998.
